Editorial Standards

This page tells you what kind of publication Paddock Notes is, what we will and won't do on the page, and how to reach us if we get something wrong.

Sponsored content

Some articles may carry a sponsored marker. When they do:

• The article carries a clearly visible "Sponsored · {sponsor}" stripe above the title.
• A disclosure block above the dek explains: This article was produced by Paddock Notes and paid for by {sponsor}. Editorial standards apply.
• The piece goes through the same review the rest of our work does. Sponsors pay for placement, not editorial control.
• Sponsored articles are excluded from the default RSS feed and from the editorial section of the Monday Briefing newsletter.
• The article is tagged as advertiser content in its structured-data markup, so search engines and aggregators can identify it correctly.

If a sponsor requests changes that would compromise the editorial, we do not make those changes. Either the piece runs as written or it does not run.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it. Material corrections are noted at the bottom of the article with the date and what changed. We do not silently edit published copy. Minor typo fixes do not get a correction note; substantive factual amendments do.

Reader privacy

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-respecting, does not set tracking cookies, and does not fingerprint visitors. We do not load Google Analytics, Meta pixels, or third-party ad networks. Newsletter subscribers are managed via SendGrid; their email addresses are not shared, sold, or used outside Paddock Notes-branded mail. See our privacy policy for the full statement.

Conflicts of interest

The editor declares any direct financial interest (equity, employment, or material consulting) in a company being written about, at the bottom of the relevant article. As of the launch date, no such interests exist beyond the publication itself.
