Paddock Notes
Racing, · at length.

Paddock Notes is a field journal for motorsport. The regulated lanes and the world adjacent to them. Formula 1 at the centre. Formula E, Le Mans, MotoGP, and rally as equals. Formula 2 and FIA F3 as the pipeline.

The remit is the phenomenon, not just the lap charts. Engineering and the rulebook. The billion-dollar business of the sport. Rivalries between manufacturers and individuals. Drivers and principals. Culture and fanbase. The technology that eventually ends up on the road.

What this isn't

Paddock Notes is not a news aggregator. It is not a niche tech blog. It is not a fan site. It is an essay-and-analysis publication that does not publish a claim it cannot source.

Who writes it

Paddock Notes is published by Leetone Enterprises, the same publisher behind GoodCarBadCar.net. Every story is researched, drafted, edited, and approved by a single editor. Read the editorial standards for what we will and won't do on the page.

Why a field journal

Motorsport is more often covered as a results service than as a phenomenon. There are box scores everywhere. Field journals are rarer: places where a single editorial voice tracks how the sport changes year on year, and what those changes tell us about the cars on the road and the businesses that build them. Paddock Notes is one of those.

We launch publicly on the morning of FP1 at Monaco, June 5 2026. Subscribe to The Briefing for race-Sunday-morning dispatches, or follow our RSS feed.
