FIA Formula 3 selected ten teams for the 2025, 2026 and 2027 seasons in an announcement dated 11 October 2024, fixing a thirty-car field three years in advance. AIX Racing was one of the ten. On 2 September 2026 that entry changed owner, and the number of teams on the 2027 grid did not move.

Bruno Michel, who runs both championships, chose his verbs carefully in the two releases that carried the news. For Formula 3 he welcomed LN4 Fusion "after they have taken over AIX Racing entry", and thanked "everyone at AIX Racing for their hard work the past three seasons". For Formula 2 he was more precise still: "LN4 Fusion has taken over AIX Racing and will be applying for an entry for the next three-year cycle of Formula 2, which will run from 2027 until 2029."

Three years is the unit the ladder trades in. Teams on both championships are selected for a cycle rather than admitted on request, which means the supply of places is set by a decision the series makes once and then lives with, and a would-be entrant between cycles has one route in. It buys somebody who already holds a place. The Race reports that AIX holds a licence to race in Formula 3 until the end of 2027, which is exactly the length of the current cycle and exactly what LN4 Fusion has acquired.

One season is the whole of what the takeover secures on track. The licence runs to the end of 2027 because the cycle does, so LN4 Fusion inherits a single Formula 3 campaign and then faces the selection round that decides the next cycle on the same terms as any applicant. An entry bought between cycles is a lease with a known expiry, and the thing it buys is not three years of racing. It is the right to be an incumbent when the series next chooses.

Michel's Formula 2 wording leaves the other half of the arrangement open. In Formula 3 the entry has been taken over and the 2027 grid place follows from it. In Formula 2 what has been taken over is the company, and the entry is applied for; neither release says it has been granted, and the application is for a cycle that has not started.

Rene Rosin left Prema on 12 January 2026, alongside Angelo Rosin and Angelina Ertsou, ending more than forty years of the family's involvement with the most decorated operation on the junior ladder. Neither RACER on 14 January nor The Race the following day could establish why, and no reason has been given on the record since. He is now Team Principal of LN4 Fusion, with Guillaume Capietto, also formerly of Prema, alongside him.

Dan Richards leads the investment group behind the team and is its chief executive, and his statement in the Formula 1 release sets out what the group thinks it has assembled: "an established operation, a Formula 1 World Champion, the most successful team principal in junior single-seater racing over the past two decades". Read as an inventory rather than a boast, the list is accurate about the order of things. The operation came first, and it came from somebody else.

LN4 Fusion will contest Italian Formula 4, Formula Regional European and Formula 3, running out of bases in the Veneto and in Cambridgeshire. Norris is separately funding the LN4 Legacy Programme, a driver-development initiative that is not the race team, and no figure has been attached to either the acquisition or his stake. Rosin's own statement describes the project as "an independent, vision-driven sporting programme with strong backing".

Norris is, in Michel's description, "the first F2 graduate to have become a Formula 1 World Champion", and that is the sentence doing the most work in the Formula 2 release. A champion buying into the category he came through is a good story for a championship whose commercial argument is that it produces champions. It is also a champion buying an asset whose scarcity the championship itself controls.

Monza runs Formula 2 and Formula 3 rounds from 4 to 6 September. Michel's Formula 3 release places LN4 Fusion on the 2027 grid, so nothing on track changes this season. The Formula 2 entry list for the 2027 to 2029 cycle is the document that settles whether the takeover carries.
