What happened
- The #7 Toyota of Nyck de Vries led by six seconds with barely ten minutes left and retired with a hydraulic pressure issue.
- Ferrari's first win of 2026, ending its longest barren streak in the championship.
- Toyota has still never won at the Circuit of the Americas, one of four circuits where it has never won.
- The #35 Alpine was running second and was dropped to third by a late unsafe pit stop release penalty; it is Alpine's first podium of the season.
- Aston Martin's Valkyrie equalled its best FIA WEC result with fourth.
- Two Safety Car periods and three Full Course Yellows; almost 70,000 trackside.
